Screenings and Consultations involve 15-20 minutes of discussing questions and concerns, and/or assessing  the status of client's speech and language needs.  It can be an important step in the speech and language therapy process. This is an opportunity to learn and discuss questions and concerns. It can be a great way to learn about speech therapy, the speech therapist, discuss tips, and next steps.

This step is vital in determining  goals, diagnoses, and all the speech and language therapy necessities that are possible. It involves verbal and written answers on a variety of questions including developmental history, medical, behavioral, wants, and needs. This is a step that ensures that the whole client, family members, and caregivers are being cared for and all there needs are being addressed.

This is a combination of information from screenings, consultations, observations, intake information, and assessments. This information all determines a diagnosis while working with clients,  families, and caregivers. This determines the best strategies, goals, and treatments to implement for the clients. 

Speech and Language therapy treatment is specific, evidence-based, and effective for each individual client, family member, and caregiver. Treatments focus and  are adjustable on goals for speech and language needs while data is consistently monitored to ensure goals are being met.
